Synopsis
The characters in Almanac scramble to enact a hoped-for wedding - and marriage - through a mountain of ordinary-sized obstacles with extraordinary-sized implications. The play opens with Flora and Pelé’s eager preparations for their wedding collapsed into shambles, as Pelé has suddenly transformed into a hummingbird. Flora and her friends fight to keep her planned marriage alive through bureaucratic hoop-jumping; a maid of honor who loses her soul; and a groom whose transformation puts his marriageability in question. It’s a magically lyrical comedy looking at love, friendship, and commitment.
