Nights of New Plays Festival
Barnyard Theatre is proud to present our annual Nights of New Plays Festival! Every summer, alongside our mainstage productions, Barnyard Theatre’s Nights of New Plays Festival introduces new works to the community. Join us at the Pence Gallery in Downtown Davis, in the barn, or on your phone for this season’s diverse selection of theatrical experiences. The Festival is free (donations appreciated), and we always have refreshments. This year, we are presenting four events during the Nights of New Plays Festival:
Night of New (Short) Plays at the 2nd Friday ArtAbout Kickoff Barnyard Theatre’s Summer 2013 Season with new plays, Italian sodas, and hummus at the Pence! Barnyard joins the downtown Davis ArtAbout by presenting an evening of readings of short plays. Come at any time! A new play will be presented every fifteen minutes, including a sneak peak at Barnyard’s summer mainstage, She Creatures by Sarah Saltwick, directed by Camille Beaumont.
Myths and Tales, a double feature at the Pence 7:00 p.m.: Barnyard Animals 8:00 p.m.: Three Lunatics Discussing Philosophy by Kevin Adamski
Workshop: Nina’s Musical Ear by Jennifer Provenza Wallace Due to a scheduling mishap, we've had to change the date for this event. The new date is Tuesday August 6. We apologize for any inconvenience/confusion. Nina’s Musical Ear is a full-length play about a young woman with Musical Ear Syndrome, a disorder that causes auditory musical hallucinations. As her increasingly abusive marriage disintegrates, she turns to music and discovers her inner strength.
Experiment: The Phone Plays by Barnyard Theatre You get a phone call – on the other end, a new play. This summer, Barnyard is experimenting with creating a new kind of theatre – two minute plays performed over the phone for individual audience members. Sign up to be an audience member at Barnyard Theatre’s productions of She Creatures or She Gets Naked in the End. |
